Spring is in the air as the northbound 421 Polar Bear Express arrives at Moosonee April 23, 2026.
We're aboard the 421 Polar Bear Express as we cross the over 1800 foot long Moose River Crossing. We're at Mile 142 of the Island Falls Subdivision. Spring is definitely here as we can see little pockets of water forming on the ice. Breakup will soon be happening.
419 arrives into Moosonee from Cochrane. Here, after switching out the shed tracks, the power couples up to the remainder of the consist in order to switch out other areas throughout Moosonee which includes the ramps, the fuel track, and more. Once completed the crew will take a mandatory rest at the bunkhouse.
